Butcher/Meat Cutter

Reporting to the Production Supervisors and Production Manager. Moving between formulation, injection, and raw processing departments the Meat Cutter is responsible for trimming, deboning and other meat preparation tasks as directed. This individual must ensure they are meeting daily production targets and producing the highest quality and safest product possible.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Unpack and properly temper frozen meats for further processing.
2.Cut, trim and prepare standard cuts of meat.
3.Cut, trim and prepare according to custom specifications.
4.Scale ingredients, grind meats, mix/blend ingredients
5.Weigh, package, label and palletize further processed meat products.
6.Operate specialized meat equipment (meat saw, grinders, bowl cutter, mixer/blender, vacuum package, injector and stuffers).
7.Ensure that production activities are being executed according to customer specifications as well as the company’s written HACCP, and SQF programs.
8.Ensure that all work is being conducted safely and according to Occupational Health and Safety standards.
9.Communicate any maintenance or product quality food safety issues to the Supervisor immediately.
10.Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
11.Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
12.Ensure sanitation activities are carried out as per HACCP and the company’s written sanitation program.

Qualifications:
•Minimum of two years’ experience as a meat cutter. Preferably in an industrial setting
•Knowledge of GMP’s, HACCP and plant sanitation
•Knowledge of processing and packaging techniques an asset
•Physically fit and able to lift at least 50lbs
•Willingness to work under refrigerated conditions

Food Production Operatives

Tony’s Meats Ltd. is looking to hire Temporary and Permanent Casual, Part Time and Full Time Food Production Operatives to join our team!

Established in 1963, Tony’s Meats Ltd. is a privately owned federally registered company which produces and distributes an extensive selection of high quality raw and fully cooked further processed meat products under the Tony’s Meats TM and Mr. Donair TM brands as well as many private label brands at both food service and retail establishments across Canada.

  • Learn all the required sanitation activities for the area

Food Processing Line Supervisor


Tony's Meats Ltd is presently looking for a Food Processing Line Supervisor. The Food Processing Line Supervisor will be responsible for the following;
⦁ Work closely with the other Line Supervisors, along with the Production Supervisor or Production Manager, to review the daily Daily Schedule Control sheet and divide the daily tasks between them.
⦁ Organize and delegate work to their crew members in manner to achieve highest productivity and efficiency.
⦁ Participate in regular daily planning meetings with production supervisor / manager.
⦁ Execute assigned activities in a manner that follows all written company standard operating procedures (SOP's), quality, food safety, Sanitation and OHS requirements.
⦁ Ensure everyone is working in a safe manner, following relevant safety SOP’s and address any safety issues immediately.
⦁ Ensure the highest level of food safety is maintained with strict adherence by all staff to GMP and food handling procedures (eg. hand washing, glove changes, product storage, FIFO (first in – first out).
⦁ Ensure product meets all quality parameters established. Responsible to stop line and notify QC if issues exist.
⦁ Learn how to operate all machinery in your production area along with all the tasks that the staff are required to complete, then be able to train new staff on how to complete the tasks they are required to learn.
⦁ Communicate any maintenance or other operational issues that are resulting in downtime or productivity losses immediately to the Production Supervisor or Production Manager.
⦁ Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality to the Production Supervisor or Production Manager.
⦁ Ensure HACCP sheets are accurately and completely filled out and turned in daily.
⦁ Ensure sanitation activi
ties are carried out as per the company’s written sanitation program.
Qualifications:
⦁ Highly motivated
⦁ Attention to detail
⦁ Willingness to train and supervise up to 16 people
⦁ Flexible to work overtime on short notice according to order demands
⦁ Comfortable with changing work activities and schedules
⦁ Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn how to operate all pieces of equipment in the room
⦁ Physically fit and able to lift at least 50 lbs
⦁ Willingness to work under refrigerated conditions

Working Conditions:

Machine Operator

Tony’s Meats Ltd. is looking to hire Permanent Full Time Machine Operators to run multiple types of machines such as Stuffers, Slicers, packaging machines and other food processing equipment.
Established in 1963, Tony’s Meats Ltd. is a privately owned federally registered, SQF and Halal certified company located in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada. Tony’s Meats produces and distributes an extensive selection of quality raw and fully cooked further processed meat products under the Tony’s Meats TM and Mr. Donair brands as well as many private label brands at both food service and retail establishments across Canada.
Successful applicants will need to have the following qualifications:
· Highly motivated
· Good dexterity
· Attention to detail
· Mechanical inclined
· Physically fit and able to lift at least 50 lbs.
· Comfortable to work with changing work activities and schedules
· Be able to work in a refrigerated and fast pace environment.
· Previous food handling or food processing experience is an asset.
